Are you bursting with entrepreneurial spirit, eager to take on challenges and join the team of a global player in the premier league? Our Corporate Training Program prepares people like you for their first responsible position at ThyssenKrupp. That’s the aim of our program, "Create (y)our future": We attract talented people looking to shape their own futures and ours, too.
The Program
Learning. Practicing. Pioneering. That’s what our trainee program is all about. With our full support and your full commitment, you’ll be ready for your first responsible position in just 12 to 18 months. You’ll begin by spending several months in the same organization as your target position, followed by rotating through five separate departments or locations. Among them, you’ll spend time in our holding company and one of our foreign subsidiaries. This time abroad will give you the opportunity to improve your language abilities and strengthen your intercultural skills. During your short period as an expatriate, you’ll become part of international networks and experience the cultural diversity of ThyssenKrupp. After another station back home, you’ll return to your target organization.

As a guideline for your development, we rely on the competence model that ThyssenKrupp has designed specifically for you and your future colleagues. It represents exactly those demands we place on you as a corporate trainee and facilitates the ideal combination of personal and professional development. Aligned under four dimensions, the model encompasses 12 competencies that we deem critical and which reflect diverse abilities, characteristics, and subject matters.

- The Development Program
Awaiting you is a comprehensive development program custom-tailored to the Corporate Trainee Program. You’ll also get to know the ThyssenKrupp Group. At the start of the program, we’ll put together a personal trainee plan. Your plan shows which stations you’ll attend when and for how long, and explains the learning contents and objectives of each station.
It also informs you who your personal contact partner in the target company and your advisor in the Corporate Center Human Resources (CC HR) are, as they will be there to answer any questions about the program. We have implemented four development models, each designed to facilitate your personal development and help you gain insight into many different aspects of the business. On-going screening during the program will also help you stay abreast of how well your personal development is coming along.
- Mentoring
Though you consistently benefit from the knowledge and abilities of experienced professionals throughout your entire training program, your official entry into our mentoring program actually takes place three months before the end of the training program: Your mentor will help you consider various career possibilities in Germany and abroad, and contemplate which path you would like to take in the future. Your personal mentor also assists you with your integration into the group, your personal development, and career planning. The mentoring program covers a period of 24 months, after which the next step begins: At the recommendation of your mentor and your supervisor, you can take part in another development program designed to prepare you for the next higher level of responsibility.
- Your Prospects
After clearing all the hurdles and successfully completing the Group trainee program you will arrive at your first destination. But that’s just the start. You’re ambitious, and ready to take on new adventures and challenges. Our shared goal is to get you ready for your first leadership role.
That’s why we continue to support you with our mentoring program. Your systematic development continues seamlessly after you complete the trainee program. But of course there are also lots of other options open to you. It’s up to you! You’re thinking of moving to a different area in 2 or 3 years?

Mit unserem Onboarding im Rahmen des Traineeprogramms stechen Sie gleich vom ersten Tag an in unternehmerische See: Deshalb schicken wir Sie in Einführungsseminare, lassen Sie gemeinsam mit anderen Trainees an spannenden Aufgaben individuell und in der Gruppe wachsen und sorgen dafür, dass Ihre Fragen die richtigen Antworten finden. Eine feste Ansprechperson in Ihrem Team weist Sie in alle Dinge ein, die für Ihre tägliche Arbeit und Ihre persönlichen Anliegen wichtig sind. Denn Zusammengehörigkeit und Kollegialität schreiben wir bei ThyssenKrupp groß. Ein besonderes Highlight Ihrer Einarbeitungszeit wird ein mehrtägiges Onboarding-Seminar sein.
