Your knowledge – our most important resource
Innovative thinking – fed by the right fountain of knowledge – is the stuff that the future is made of. And this originates in the imagination of our employees. As a result, our success as a company depends on providing the right training and targeted employee development. We have a vested interest in the welfare of all of our employees, which is why we place great emphasis on employee development. This means training people in teams, on and off the job, as well as educating employees on subjects beyond their own department. To do this, we have the very latest training facilities for holding workshops, seminars, and networking events.

Further vocational training pays off - Sebastian Grundhöfer, a senior electrical engineer at Uhde GmBH, is well aware of that.
A fountain of specialist knowledge
In the last year alone, more than 90,000 people attended one of the many courses offered by ThyssenKrupp. Since many of the 85,000 employees in Germany participated in more than one training module, we have a high course completion ratio: more than 120%. The demand for our courses demonstrates that our offer to open the door to further opportunity is seeing a warm welcome. The majority of our courses are on quality management, data technology, and management development as well as the promotion of intercultural understanding. We provide technical training and courses designed to anchor and galvanize our engineering excellence such as occupational safety and health, health management, and environmental protection. We see it as a win-win situation as every employee has the opportunity to develop, strengthen their specialist knowledge, and expand their horizons, and in return ThyssenKrupp benefits from well-educated specialists prepared for the challenges of the future. Apart from investing directly in the skills and capabilities of our employees, we also provide them with peripheral support. For instance, we help them earn other degrees such as an Executive MBA or a part-time PhD. At regular intervals, people also get together to expand their network of contacts within the company. Newcomers and gifted employees are given a mentor to introduce them to their responsibilities and working at ThyssenKrupp. We’re also staunch believers of job rotation to allow specialists to get to know areas or even companies beyond their department and hopefully uncover hitherto unknown potential.
