ThyssenKrupp is an expanding company. Not only are we entering promising markets in all corners of the globe, we need promising people, employees who understand the company and have what it takes to take it forward. To do this, it’s also crucial for us to promote up-and-coming talent and provide them with the right specialist knowledge, tools, and personal strengths to progress in a number of directions and develop as an individual. So employees from all sorts of backgrounds are offered the right specialist and management career paths to allow them to climb the career ladder rung by rung. With every step, they gain in experience and responsibility. At ThyssenKrupp this from-an-absolute-beginner-to-an-expert path – and beyond to senior management – is open to everyone, you just need the motivation to follow it. What’s more, our courses help hone peak performers into peak condition, opening the door to even more opportunity.

Learning to lead: the ThyssenKrupp Academy and “PerspActive”

Feeling safe in one’s working environment and motivated are often attributed to a responsive and reasonable manager. This is why at ThyssenKrupp we go to great lengths to train managers. Based at our ThyssenKrupp Quarter in Essen, the Essener Academy is scheduled to provide courses for around 2,500 managers from the Group. The training they’ll receive has been carefully matched to the demands and strategy of the entire company. One of the key components of our management development model is what we call “ThyssenKrupp PerspActive”: all managers are asked to make a lasting improvement to both the future of the company and themselves. The underlying concept of the program is that long-term management development should be based on a common corporate philosophy and a clear understanding of the meaning of the performance, potential, and capability of the individual. Based on these principles, we undertake more detailed evaluations as part of the formalized development process.

In a nutshell: as well as shaping your future, ThyssenKrupp works with you to promote your personal development – to the benefit of your future with the company.
