thyssenkrupp generally uses your personal data to answer your inquiries, process your requests or allow you access to specific information or offers . But thyssenkrupp would also like to make your job search easier. On the following pages you can therefore apply directly for jobs at Group subsidiaries online. We promise to treat your information confidentially. The data you enter here will be processed and used only for the purpose of selecting job applicants.

2. Which data do we collect?

On this website we collect the information needed for application procedures at thyssenkrupp.

When you apply for a job with a Group subsidiary, you will be asked to provide certain personal details (for example name, address, e-mail). You may also be asked questions relating to the position you are applying for. When applying for work with our company it is also essential that you attach your résumé.

For security reasons we send you an e-mail confirmation applying online.

Please note that your data are not stored anonymously but are accessible to the HR department and the departments of the Group relevant to the position you have applied for.

2.1. IP addresses

Within the framework of the statutory provisions, we store Internet Protocol addresses (IP addresses) in log files for a strictly limited period only, insofar as this is necessary for technical and security purposes. We compile anonymous statistics to record the number of visitors to our website (traffic), but we do not create individual user profiles or link these to information which may be used to identify an individual. We subsequently delete this information. 

2.2. Application information

Before you will be sending your information to thyssenkrupp through the by us provided system, we ask you to provide your consent to the processing of your personal data and we will provide you with more details on for example which data we will be processing, for which purposes and who will be processing your personal data. Please note that in some countries (e.g. the UK) we may collect sensitive data (e.g. data about ethnic origin, health) to ensure compliance with anti-discrimination laws. Such information is collected anonymously and is under no circumstances combined with your personal data (unless required by law). This ensures that it can no longer be allocated to you. Such information is used exclusively for statistical purposes in accordance to the laws applying in these countries.

2.3 Job alert

If you register for our job alert function via e-mail, we use your e-mail address to send respective job offers. In order to ensure your proper registration for this service and to prevent unauthorized log-ins on behalf of third parties, we will send you a confirmation e-mail after logging in for the first time. We are using the Double-Opt-In process when requesting you to confirm your registration. Legal basis for sending the job offers is your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a EU Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Subscribing to the job offer service is voluntary and can be revoked at any time. For this purpose, a link is available to you in every job offer email, via which you can unsubscribe from the service.

2.4 Chatbot "Jakob"

With "Jakob", our digital Chabot assistant, we offer you an optional communication channel. This is provided in cooperation with IT service providers, which we have commissioned in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations. We do not forward your personal data to third parties.

Jakob supports you in your search for information regarding career possibilities at thyssenkrupp; in particular, Jakob can help to find suitable positions for you. You can post your questions after giving your consent and Jakob will respond to your questions.

Personal data provided by you (contact details: name and title, address, telephone number, e-mail address) and your IP address will be processed for the purpose of responding to your request. The messages you have entered are processed on the basis of your consent (with sec. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a EU-GDPR) in order to reply to your request.

To ensure the security of your information, please do not share any confidential or personal information with us.

The data are for internal purposes, e.g. for steering and improvement of our service processes (sec. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f  EU-GDPR). Personal data that you provide in your messages will not be evaluated. Your messages will be stored for 40 days and afterwards be deleted permanently.

3. Who processes the data? With whom do we share your personal data?

The data collected by thyssenkrupp are processed exclusively by the thyssenkrupp group and Group service providers that are bound by contract. Personal data are disclosed only to the extent and for the purpose specified in the contract in accordance with the data protection laws to agencies which, for example, operate our servers or perform specific services.

The information you submit to us is treated confidentially and disclosed only within the relevant Group subsidiary to persons involved in a concrete application process. To ensure availability and continuity, as well as data quality in data processing, a cloud solution is used, which can be maintained in individual service cases from outside the EU. This means in the context of your application your personal data can be processed outside the EU / EEA.

4. Data security

To protect our data we use state-of-the-art data protection measures in line with the current statutory provisions on data protection (incl. firewalls, virus scanners, intrusion detection software). However, 100% security can never be obtained through measures.

Nevertheless, we recommend that you make back-up copies of all documents of importance to you. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or compromised passwords or for any activity on your account via unauthorized password activity.

Please note that under some employment contracts it is not permitted to use the internet for private purposes during working hours or using your workplace computer. 6.2 Use of MediaMath retargeting technology

This website uses tracking technologies provided by MediaMath, INC, New York (USA) (“MediaMath”) to deliver more targeted and interest-based advertising.

This function is used to display interest-based ads to website visitors within the MediaMath ad network. When you visit this website, a cookie is placed in your browser which, when stored on your computer, makes it possible to recognize you when you access websites belonging to the MediaMath ad network. On these sites, campaign content and job ads can be displayed which relate to content you have previously accessed on other websites.
