Your responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and lead the sourcing strategies for all materials purchased by tkA. This includes:
    • Specific strategies for medium / high volume purchases.
    • Specific strategies for low volume purchases.
    • Leveraging tkA spend against customer contracts to gain a commercial advantage.
    • Leveraging thyssenkrupp Materials non-Aerospace spend with common suppliers.
  • Agree strategic and operational goals for each material category within the tkA portfolio.
  • Develop senior level relationships with key supplier partners.
  • Conduct strategically important negotiations with key supplier partners.
  • Draft contractual agreements between tkA and key supplier partners and prepare for internal approvals.
  • Operate active measurement tools that ensure appropriate management and improvement of supplier performance.
  • Ensure security of supply and quality to each tkA business.
  • Define, implement, maintain and improve Global tkA procurement processes that are in compliance with Aerospace industry regulatory approvals.
  • Recruit, manage and develop central procurement team members who report directly to you, and ensure consistent personal development for all Procurement team members worldwide.
  • Build and maintain internal relationships with relevant material procurement teams in other parts of the Business Area

Your profile

  • Degree level qualification in business administration, engineering or a similar subject, ideally with a focus on supply chain management (SCM). Additional qualifications in Purchasing and Supply Management are preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional and project experience in Procurement and ideally several years of leadership experience with multi-national teams.
  • Ideally, you have experience in the procurement of aerospace grade metals, especially Aluminium and Titanium.
  • You have business acumen – and know how businesses work both financially and politically.
  • Proven experience in interactions with different management levels and cultures. Your confident manner, your communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly to different people and settings have always helped you.
  • Your previous work history will have evidence of creating and communicating a compelling and inspired vision, and you can demonstrate how to manage change to process and organisation effectively.
  • Your previous roles will include designing organisation wide common systems and processes, which allow management from a distance.
  • You clearly assign responsibility for tasks and decisions to team members and can be counted on to exceed goals.
  • Negotiation skills – You are comfortable in tough situations and have a sound knowledge of contract negotiation and structuring.
  • You are widely trusted and seen to be cool under pressure.
  • You have very good knowledge both in the application of an ERP system (preferably SAP) and in using Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent English language skills are mandatory, with additional languages preferred.
  • You will enjoy regular business trips across the tkA worldwide network.
