Since November 2021, we have been welcoming 30 students from various degree programmes of the Technical University of Dortmund every year. Both Bachelor's and Master's students have the opportunity to apply for our one-year programme. We provide these selected students with intensive support and offer them a wide range of activities and experiences. These include interactive management training, career talks, specialist presentations and experience reports from former talents who have successfully found their way at thyssenkrupp. Our programme promotes a close exchange with our #GENERATIONTK and offers exclusive insights into the practice of our company as well as the opportunity to start a career at thyssenkrupp.

Ruhr University Bochum - Interview training

In cooperation with the Ruhr University Bochum, we regularly offer interview training sessions. Small groups of students come together in our office to prepare for future job applications. Our training courses offer a dynamic mix of theoretical principles and practical exercises. Participants receive valuable insights and tips directly from our experienced recruiters. In addition, the personal atmosphere offers the opportunity to ask individual questions about CVs, cover letters and more. This allows participants to optimally prepare for their next application as a working student, intern or for direct entry.

Since June 2024, we have been offering female students from predominantly technical degree programmes, such as the women's degree programme in mechanical engineering at the Ruhr-West University of Applied Sciences in Mülheim, the opportunity to take part in our one-year mentoring programme ‘Empower2Grow’. For us, this is an excellent opportunity to get to know female talent and support them on their career path. As part of our programme, ten female specialists and managers from various technical fields act as mentors to the female students. The mentor-mentee pairs meet regularly throughout the year to exchange advice, feedback and personal experiences. Our programme is supplemented by career talks and a tour of the steelworks, which offer the participants exclusive insights into our practical side.

Formula Student

Formula Student

We support the motorsport team of the Ruhr University Bochum at the Formula Student with our high-quality shock absorbers and our comprehensive expertise. Our partnership kicked off with an exciting two-day event at the Nürburgring, where we presented the latest shock absorber technology down to the smallest detail. Exciting tech talks and performance tests on the test bench made this event an unforgettable experience and laid the foundation for our successful collaboration.

Our partnership thrives on a sustainable exchange, which is supported by regular meetings and necessary tests. Our experts continuously share their technical expertise with the team in order to achieve top performance together.

Train the tutor

On September 25, 2024, the cooperation with Ruhr University Bochum began, and the "Train the Tutor" program kicked off its first round. Around 20 students from the degree programs "Mechanical Engineering" and "Product Management & Sales" participated in a workshop designed to specifically prepare them for their future role as first-year tutors.

The workshop offers participants practical tips on semester planning, didactic preparation of content, and the design of interactive networking formats. This ensures they are well-equipped to guide new first-year students through the start of their studies, provide support, and serve as reliable contact persons.
