Maximizing scope, shaping processes and solutions
“Respect, innovation and openness are what make the difference at thyssenkrupp,” says someone who ought to know: Christian März. Since the beginning of 2016 he has been working at thyssenkrupp – a Group he was already familiar with from his consulting assignments in the past. Even back then he was impressed by the team spirit and the pleasant atmosphere among colleagues of all levels, even in real emergency situations. Christian März’s career has previously involved IT process auditing and the setup of IT risk management systems; now he is Head of the CoE Business Solutions in the Processes, Solutions and Services area with responsibility for a 22-member team. “Anyone seeking creative freedom to develop new IT solutions on their own initiative is in the right place here,” the business graduate says.
Processes, Solutions & Services (PSS) is the heart of the IT department for IT processes and applications at thyssenkrupp Materials Services. On the basis of an advanced SAP system landscape, processes and solutions are developed here which are always aimed at enhancing the efficiency of internal customers, establishing innovative solutions and thus making the business area even more successful. “We are responsible for, operate and develop SAP template systems including satellites to support approx. 7,000 users at 40 companies in 19 countries around the world. Christian März feels completely at home in the thyssenkrupp IT world, particularly when he has managed to ensure that everyone involved in a process has the same level of understanding and sees the process as a team effort – i.e. “together”. “We hope that our enthusiasm for IT processes can inspire others and enable us to become better integrated into the business so we can create more value together.”
