Flexible working hours
You would like to set your own working hours? That is possible with us. You are not bound to fixed office hours, but will benefit from a flextime arrangement depending on the location.
We give you plenty of opportunities to play your part in the future of digitization at thyssenkrupp. For example, we use machine learning and AI to develop algorithms for the cloud services that go into vehicles at our startup carValoo GmbH. Algorithms such as these can be used to automatically assess the condition of vehicles and their performance on the road as well as detect damage events.
We develop and test innovative and promising IT ideas at our Digital Labs using an agile working model. Our digital solutions make our colleagues’ jobs easier. Moreover our work in the area of software architecture is pioneering thanks to the IIoT platform toii® we developed in-house – an end2end service which provides our customers with a practical, efficient, and future-oriented software solution.
And that’s just some of what we do. Have we piqued your interest?
We know how helpful it is to be able to exchange ideas about technologies and projects with other (IT) Professionals. That’s why we offer a wide range of internal opportunities:
In the internal “Open Digital Community” you can network and exchange ideas with your IT colleagues from different areas of the company – on current projects and internationally. No matter whether you come from Europe, India, Greater China or North America. Regardless of the division and department.
Your colleagues will share their current use cases and digitization projects with the community. You can address open-ended questions and share your experiences. Are you working on an exciting project within your thyssenkrupp team or are you having issues with one? Then ask the community!
At our regular DigiTables, the community gets together to discuss topics like big data or machine learning. Experts share their knowledge and share their experiences.
In the weekly internal DigiPodcasts, your colleagues will give you further insights into the work that they do. They describe exciting projects in under ten minutes. Projects from Cloud Services to IT Security and much more.

We don’t forget about fun at thyssenkrupp. Depending on the company and location, we run a variety of IT events such as #play4tk or #hack4tk for the IT community.
At #play4tk, you compete against your IT colleagues. The goal? Solving a challenge and escaping from the escape room.
At the hackathon #hack4tk, new digital approaches are created for the future of thyssenkrupp. Coders, Concept Developers, Designers and IT Professionals come together at one table and work as a team. It does not matter whether it is an existing team or a new one thrown together at the event. After the given time, the results are presented to the other participants in a final presentation. The winning team of the #hack4tk can expect a prize: for example, vouchers for events such as tech conferences or team events. In the subsequent informal get-together, there is time for networking and exchanging ideas.
Impressions from the last hackathon at thyssenkrupp:
At thyssenkrupp we offer you the opportunity to exchange ideas with our other IT Professionals in various formats such as “klar:text Club Edition Digitization” or “60 minutes with – TechXpert Edition”.
In our internal format “klar:text Club Edition Digitization” our IT Professionals from different segments and in different functions discuss current topics and challenges in the digitization of thyssenkrupp. Whether on “Digitization@thyssenkrupp: Underestimated or faked?” or “Digitization in administration – top or flop?”: a likely exchange is certain. You can listen to the other IT Professionals in a relaxed atmosphere or contribute your own questions and comments.
“60 minutes with – TechXpert Edition” brings together IT Professionals who want to make a difference and are curious to exchange ideas with colleagues. The interactive, virtual and cross-business discussion format covers topics such as “Big data & data science in manufacturing”, “Tech at thyssenkrupp – what unites us?” and “Internet of Production meets machine learning”. Here you cannot only make new contacts within the company, but also broaden your perspective on tech topics.
